Kayaking to Shell Island & Instruction

A professionally guided kayak tour to Shell Island and Shell Key.  

A professionally guided tour with tour guide Walter Pauly of Wandering Adventures Kayak Tours.   The trip will go to Shell Island and Shell Key from Butler's Hole in Tierra Verde.  The waters are shallow and safe so this trip is good for beginners.  Walter says we will see a lot of nature and may see manatees and dolphins along the way! 

Walter will provide all the equipment, but if you want to bring your kayak and own equipment, we can add more people; sign up accordingly.

Here's a picture overviewing our trip.  Butler's Hole is near NautiKayak, and we will go across (west) to Shell Key.  Next picture will show where to park.

PARKING:  Walter Pauly has indicated in the map below in the red circle as to where to park.  You can park on both sides of the road.  He will have his truck there with a FLAG flying for Wandering Adventures so we can find him.  There is a vendor called Captain Yak in the area as well.

The launch time will be adjusted according to the tide and currently it is estimated to be at 11AM.  He will start giving out gear  & training at 10:30. Also weather permitting.  Allow approximately 3.5 hours.  

Here's what to expect on the tour:

* Basic kayaking instruction

* Personal Floatation Device and Single or Double Kayaks provided

* Bring your own kayak and equipment option available

* 45 - 60 minutes paddle to island

* 1 hour on island, some snacks and water will be provided by Carol

* 45 - 60 return paddle

*Tip included in price of $20 per person

Wear water shoes, a hat, sunscreen and bring water & a snack.
