Join us for a meetup at the St. Pete Shuffleboard Club in downtown.
Friday nights the club opens its doors to the public from 7:00-10:00 pm. (They suggest a small donation of $2 per person to the club.)
Originally founded in 1924, the Club grew to 116 courts and 4,000 members and was a center of activity for the town. Today, the club touts over 1,200 members. No longer a sport for just aging baby boomers, the Club has become a popular gathering spot on Friday nights for locals of all ages.
The game is played in groups of 4, so registration is required. A few volunteers are needed to arrive at 6:30 to sign up for courts. (One from each group, must be present to sign up for a court.) Depending on how busy the night is, courts can be shared by two groups of 4, who alternate play. (The club provides music, shuffleboard pucks, score boards and cue sticks to use, at no cost.)
Volunteers are needed to bring folding tables. Guests should bring their own refreshments (liquor or soft drinks, but no glass is allowed.) Typically, people bring snacks and finger foods to munch on, too. It's a party atmosphere.

Please note: this is a weather dependent activity. It it rains within 4 hours of the event, or is unusually cold, 67, or less the meetup will be cancelled. Please be sure to check your email for a notice in those circumstances on the day of the event.
