Natures Paradise Awaits Just Minutes Away from PYCC
If you have never hiked or biked the latest section of the Skyway Trail you’ve missed what probably is the most beautiful part of the Pinellas Trail built to date.
Lucky for those living in PYCC, you can pick up the trail where it connects with 26th Street, which is newly completed. From there the trail continues in back of the Post Office where it joins the main trail that runs along the golf course. From there the bike trail gently curves until it suddenly opens up into Clam Bayou. Clam Bayou is part of a national estuary project that seeks to preserve one of the few remaining natural habitats in Pinellas county. It is a waterfront oasis full of all kinds wildlife. Along the trail you’ll see jumping fish and abundant waterfowl. Elegant grey herons dot the shore line. If you study the waterway you'll see manatee and turtles. It is hard to believe such a beautiful and pristine area is right outside our door and so few of us have taken advantage of it.
Now is your chance. Join your neighbors for an easy bike ride along the trail down to Suntex Marina. The path is a broad and smooth concrete bike trail which makes for an easy ride, even if you are not use to biking. Returning. we'll stop at Beef O'Bradys Pub & Sports Bar in Marina Village for lunch.
